Californian groove metallers DevilDriver have released their brand new song “Dead To Rights.” For a limited time, the song is available for free on the band’s as well as Roadrunner Records’ website.
“Dead To Rights” is the first song off of their upcoming album “Beast,” scheduled to be released on February 21, 2011 in the US via Roadrunner Records. The album was produced by Mark Lewis and marks his first collaboration with the band.

Northern Ireland’s Gothic metallers CREATION’S TEARS have released a free 3 track promo on their official website. The band’s debut full length album “Methods To End It All” will be released on October 4 via the Cure For Poison label through Code 7 (via Plastic Head).
The duo of Jens Bogren & David Castillo engineered & produced the album at the legendary Fascination Street Studios, Orebro, Sweden. Jens Bogren has previously worked with bands like Opeth, Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Soilwork & Amon Amarth.
Former PARADISE LOST/MARSHALL LAW drummer Lee Morris makes his return to the heavier end of the musical spectrum with his appearance on this album as the session drummer. Stated Lee Morris: “When I was first contacted by CREATION’S TEARS about playing on their album, I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t really have any great desire to re-visit this style of playing again, as after nearly a decade of touring and recording with PARADISE LOST, I’d kinda just about exhausted my enthusiasm for this scene. However, after hearing this band’s demos and being really impressed by the new fresh ideas they had, plus their incredible ambition, it became a bit of a no-brainer, really, on my involvement on this record.”
The album also features guest appearance from Sarah Jezebel Deva (ex Cradle of Filth).

SCARS ON BROADWAY, featuring SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan, has partnered with popular music streaming service SoundCloud for a unique free download promotion.
To get a copy of the band’s new song, very thoughtfully titled “F**king” fans have only to share the news of the download with their friends either on their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Once the custom message is shared with their friends, the download link is made available.
Although the promotion strategy is pretty interesting and quite intelligent, it remains to be seen how many would be willing to have a message informing their friends about a track so subtly titled “F**king” on their Facebook walls, or even as a tweet from their accounts. Simply spoils the whole strategy. Some might say adds fun to it, but I’m not too sure!
But of course, there is always a way around. Simply follow the procedure and as soon as the tweet appears, simply delete it. The mp3 download link would remain in any case. That is only if you are the shy/decent kind. Otherwise, it’s all cool 😉
