Lacuna Coil - Dark Adrenaline

Italian Gothic metallers LACUNA COIL have announced the release date for their new album “Dark Adrenaline.” The album will be released via Century Media Records on January 23, 2012 in Europe and a day later in North America. Don Gilmore, who has worked with the likes of PEARL JAM, LINKIN PARK and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, and who handled production duties on their 2009 album “Shallow Life,” returns once again as the album’s producer. While the band’s last collaboration with Don Gilmore resulted in a sound leaning more towards their American Alternative rock/metal influences, the new album has a heavier sound that will please their old-school Gothic metal fans, as revealed by frontwoman Cristina Scabbia in recent interviews.

Regarding the new album, Cristina Scabbia commented, “As some of you know, the release for ‘Dark Adrenaline’ was postponed a bit…and this made me even more nervous because I had to wait even more to spit it out! I am so thrilled I can finally say something about this album – ha! I simply love it. I feel this is the best work we have ever done, and it absolutely captures the essence of who we are. The atmosphere of the record will make a lot of old-school fans very happy, and the newer fans will enjoy the vibrant energy and the dark blood running through the songs. I really believe the ‘Dark Adrenaline’ will wake you up. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to enjoy the trip!”

Speaking to UK’s TERRORIZER magazine, she added, “I can definitely say that it’s heavier and more obscure. I think that during the songwriting, we go with the flow and do whatever we like, and we realized that what we enjoy the most when we perform is the heaviness and that melancholic feeling of the darker songs. That’s us, and that’s what came out in this album.”

“Dark Adrenaline” track listing:
1. Trip The Darkness
2. Against You
3. Kill the Light
4. Give Me Something More
5. Upsidedown
6. End of Time
7. I Don’t Believe in Tomorrow
8. Intoxicated
9. The Army Inside
10. Losing My Religion
11. Fire
12. My Spirit

The lead single, “Trip The Darkness” will be released digitally on October 17th in Europe and on October 18th in the US. LACUNA COIL will embark on their “Darkness Rising Tour,” headlining dates in the UK this November in support of the new single, while also playing some Italian dates in late October. Keep checking as more shows are added to the tour.

Limp Bizkit Leak

A new Limp Bizkit leak has surfaced on the internet. Titled “Smelly Beaver,” the leak features 16 tracks including a standard LB Intro and an Outro – all amounting to an album’s worth of material. However, the first thought that comes to mind, that this might be music from the new album “GOLD COBRA,” well, that isn’t the case here. The leak features various B-sides, including some that have appeared in the past.

However, what makes this leak different  from the ones before is the quality of the recordings. “Smelly Beaver” has tracks ripped at 320kbps – great quality, must say (“Drive Right In Me” and the bonus track “Action Dumb” being the only exceptions on this front). The leak includes several “Off The Record” tracks that were recorded during and just before the “Results May Vary” sessions. “Just Drop Dead” has been renamed “Deserve More,” “Let It Go” has been renamed “A True Friend,” “Don’t Press Your Luck” is called “Get Fucked Up!” while my favorite “Crack Addict” appears as “Right Now, Let’s Go!”. Not to forget “Introver,” that was featured as the background music on limpbizkit.com around the time of the release of “The Unquestionable Truth” EP.

While the leak may not satiate angry fans waiting for “GOLD COBRA” for over a year now, it’s surely a treat as it gives them some “new” music while they wait for some real “NEW” music. After all, something is better than nothing, right?

“GOLD COBRA” would be the first album since 2000’s “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water” to feature the definitive Limp Bizkit lineup, including guitarist Wes Borland. That album remains the fastest selling rock album ever in North America, with sales of a million+ in the first week in the US alone!

Here’s the track list:
01. Introver
02. Right Now, Let’s Go!
03. Sniffing
04. Deserve More
05. A True Friend
06. I’m Alrite
07. Your Bluff
08. My Memory
09. Fire It Up!
10. Shut It Up!
11. Dive Right In Me
12. Beautiful Boy
13. I’ve Got No Clue
14. Get Fucked Up!
15. Actin Dumb (bonus track)
16. Outrover

Why haven’t I added a link here, you ask? Well, I don’t support piracy 😉

And no, “Smelly Beaver” does not just refer to a smelly beaver, the rodent. Go figure 😉
