Former SEPULTURA/NAILBOMB frontman and current SOULFLY/CAVALERA CONSPIRACY guitarist/vocalist MAX CAVALERA recently sat down for an interview with Pyromusic.net’s Brendan Crabb (a.k.a. Spiritech).

An excerpt below features MAX discussing some of his favorite collaborations on different SOULFLY records.

Max Cavalera On The Various SOULFLY Collaborations

Then the conversation moved towards one particular collaboration that MAX hasn’t been too fond of lately. The track “Bleed” was released as the second single from their self-titled debut album “Soulfly” and featured FRED DURST & DJ LETHAL from LIMP BIZKIT. Regarding the collaboration, Max sure had a thing or two to say.

MAX CAVALERA On His Love For LIMP BIZKIT's Frontman FRED DURST 🙂

The view that FRED turned out to be a “jackass” after his encounter with fame was very recently echoed by none other than JONATHAN DAVIS from KORN. Remember, KORN’s most successful album (commercially) “Follow The Leader” also featured a collaboration with FRED on the track “All In The Family.”

However, I, for one, do not regret that these collaborations DID happen, for both of these songs are pretty sick! And FRED’s contributions on both seem pretty significant in increasing their overall sickness. “Jackass” or no jackass. 😉

ps. In rock/metal lingo, sick is supposed to be a positive adjective. In case, you didn’t know this, you better…. well, nevermind!
